Guest guest
Article: http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/09/22/georgia.flood.horses/index.html I don't know about you all, but if I were already awakened and surprised that my horses were in deep trouble, I don't think I would have moved just some of them and left the others out to pasture by a creek and gone to bed! Drowning is no way to die either. I remember that the dogs in shelters from Katrina paddling for hours in their cages until they couldn't go on. I don't know how long horses can hold out, but this sucks. "...they found the dead body of one of the mares and two yearlings floating in the water, and three other yearlings are unaccounted for..." Floodwaters hit the ranch of Ed and Nancy Wellham on Monday. At least three horses died there. In memory of my sweet old man and my friends' dogs who also passed...never forget: -- Duke (greyhound), RIP 10/17/06 -- Oscar (little black lab mix), RIP 3/9/08 -- Caesar D. (my beloved greyhound), RIP 1/6/09 -- Ian (golden lab), RIP 4/4/09 -- Fluffy (borzoi), RIP 8/18/
