Dear Friends and Supporters:

 

As many of you are aware, October 22, 2009 marked the one year anniversary that High Caliber K-9, a center for dog training, grooming and boarding located in Youngstown, Ohio, was raided by local law enforcement. The gruesome discovery of seven dead and 12 starving dogs by humane agents helped serve as the catalyst for proposed Ohio H.B. 70.

 

For more information on this bill as amended by the Criminal Justice Committee, please It is important to note that this important piece of legislation barely passed through the Criminal Justice Committee by a vote of 6-5.

It is important that the Ohio House of Representatives hear from their constituents requesting a YES vote on H.B. 70 AS ORIGINALLY INTRODUCED TO THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE - To amend section 959.99 of the Revised Code to increase the penalty for violation of the prohibition against cruel treatment of a companion animal by the animal's custodian or caretaker to a felony of the fifth degree!
