Guest guest
Folks, I just heard on CNN (~7:30 p.m., Wed., Jan. 27) that NY Gov. David Paterson wants to ban the 150-year-old NYC tradition of carriage rides if the horses do not receive better treatment. Wolf Blitzer said that animal rights groups are concerned about the horses working in cold conditions and how small their stalls are. Blitzer said that Gov. Patterson said that horses should be treated humanely just like every animal -- YEH! Article: http://abcnews.go.com/Travel/wireStory?id=9677298 -----> Paterson's spokeswoman, Marissa Shorenstein, said: "Horse carriages are important to New York's overall tourism industry and to the fabric of New York City's culture; however, we must be certain to treat horses and all animals ethically." PLEASE WRITE to Gov. Paterson and thank him for standing up for the NYC horses and all animals. Go to: http://161.11.121.121/govemail -----> Under "Subject," I put "Treatment of NYC horses used for carriage rides"; under "Topic," please choose "Animals" (4th choice in drop-down menu)
