Guest guest
Vegan 15 Peaks Challenge 2010 – last 2 places On Saturday June 5, 2010, a team of extremely fit (or foolish?) vegans will attempt to climb all 15 Welsh mountains over 914 m (3,000 ft), in under 24 hours. They will cover 48 km, with nearly 4,000 m of ascent and descent. Why??? Animal-based diets are the single greatest contributors to global warming, human health and animal welfare problems, but many worry a vegan diet would make them weak or unfit, and that a vegan lifestyle is no fun. We will prove them wrong, on both counts! Is this for you? If you are vegan, reasonably fit and prepared to train hard, this challenge is for you. You can also fundraise for a charity of your choice! Mountain Leadership and safety management is provided by Lupine Adventure, who will charge £115, including carbon offsetting. Travel, accommodation and food will be extra. All participants will need to successfully complete the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge as a rehearsal on Sunday 11 April. Of 9 places on the team, only 2 remain.
