Guest guest
I can still hear their screams..December 14, 2005 The men grabbed each cage off this huge truck and threw them to the ground - as high up as 30'. The cries of these adorable dogs and cats as they hit the ground sent me into shock. Several dogs and cats crammed into each cage, many already bloodied and many whose bones would break upon impact. I can still hear their screams. As I watched the video progress, I realized that I was crying. The screams of live dogs and cats as they were skinned alive, their big eyes begging for mercy and receiving none, ripped my heart out and brought incredible rage from deep down inside. One has only to think of the baby seals in Canada, the rattlesnakes in the US, the foxes still ripped apart alive in the UK despite new legislation, the barbaric production of pate de foie in France - the list goes on and on - to know that human cruelty knows no boundaries, geographical or political, though the sheer amount of it for profit or pleasure rather than hunger or need is unrivalled by any other species. Guest guest
Still these words (of the link I send) are beautifully said don't you think? I would not feel offended myself if anyone says the Dutch are particularly barbaric. WE ARE!, then again, I am not doïng it myself and will protest wherever I have the chance. If I wóuld feel offended then probably I would have got sómeting to hide? I agree animalcruelty happens all over the world, not particularly by communists in China or Asia. But if anyone of last mentioned would féel offended by that assumption (how controversial certain assumptions may be) then he (or she) próbably feels no immediate priority in changing certain cruelty/or could have had something to hide, which ofcourse is sad and unfortunate. In other words, beïng personal is not someting I personally have problems with. You have, and that is not wrong, it's personal. You have, and that is not wrong, it's personal. I obviously didn't make my point clear and I apologise for that. Personally I don't feel offended and have no view as to whether feeling offended is right or wrong, but anything that gives at least some people a chance to claim racial or national prejudice detracts from the effectiveness of a straightforward condemnation of the behaviour without reference to the race or political allegiance of the perpetrators. In other words, I'm something of a pragmatist in these matters! Good wishes and thanks for your prompt response. Vanessa PS I attended an event at Brussels university on Saturday where I had the pleasure of meeting vegans from Holland as well from Belgium and France, so I am well aware that the Dutch, like the Chinese, the British and everyone else, can be compassionate as well as cruel. Good luck in all your undertakings!
