Police sources said that the tiger had been a menace in the adjacent villages of Guma reserve forest. It injured at least nine people in the last couple of days. The villagers killed the tiger near Gadadhar river along the Assam-West Bengal border. On January 13, a leopard cat weighing about 35 kg had been killed by poachers in Ride No 2 under Athiabari Range of Kachigaon division. Another leopard cat was also killed by villagers last month.
