Guest guest
It was the end of a 22month bond between a triabl Chakma women of Tripura village and a cuddly little bear cub.The lady broke into tears as the forest officials loaded her adopted daughter (Sundari) the bear cub anto their vehicle and drove off to the zoo. Before the seperation it was a different tale altogether. The lady found the cub inside aforest (Kuwifang) in an injured state ,At first she was scared but later realised that the mother abondoned the cub.The lady srought home the cub some 22 months back ,nurtured her with motherly care that one would think of.The endangered Asiastic bear became a member of teh Nishanis family that includes a number of slumbering pigs and scooting chicken.Despite her poverty the mother gave Sundari , her spot of milk. When the Zoo people approached her house Sundari ran straight to her foster mother and sat near her refusing to accompany us to ther zoo, but now she ,the youngest of the12 bears ,will have to adjust to the zoo atmosphere Sangeeta Goswa mi, People for animals ,Guwahati.M.94352 13328,Web:- www. pfaassam.org Relax.
