VetCharity Australia is a not-for-profit, incorporated organisation,

established and operated by veterinarians. The organisation seeks to

improve the health and well-being of both the animal and human

populations in developing countries of the Asia-Pacific region, by

providing or facilitating sustainable animal welfare programmes,

staffed by qualified veterinary personnel.

We are urgently seeking volunteer veterinarians and veterinary nurses

to assist us in a unique project co-funded by the State Government of

Sikkim and the Brigitte Bardot Foundation.

Project activities:

• State-wide Animal Birth Control and Anti-Rabies programme:

performing desexing surgery and Rabies vaccination

• Provision of general healthcare for stray and abandoned animals

• Public awareness and school education programmes, promoting Rabies

awareness and prevention, responsible pet ownership and compassion for

animals

• Training of Sikkimese Government veterinary officers in ABC-AR

protocols and techniques

We are currently seeking offers of assistance from volunteer

veterinarians and veterinary nurses from March 2006 onwards. The usual

length of stay is between four and eight weeks.

COME AND JOIN US IN THIS IMPORTANT AND REWARDING WORK,

IN ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND PEACEFUL PARTS OF THE WORLD
