Guest guest
Vet-To-Vet - Surgical Training Group This Australian-based group has been established to provide personalised, practical instruction in surgical protocols and procedures of relevance to surgeons and nursing staff working in animal welfare projects and facilities in developing countries. All VTV consultants hold post-graduate surgical qualifications and are experienced educators and demonstrators. The founder, Dr Ian Douglas, has been involved in the training of veterinary personnel in projects in the Asia-Pacific region for many years, is President of the volunteer veterinary organisation VetCharity and is currently Director of the Sikkim Anti-Rabies and Animal Health Programme in India. Course content is tailored to the requirements of the client; all specialised equipment and medications are provided for the duration of the course. VTV endeavours to keep the cost of its programmes within the budget of most animal-welfare organisations, and will assist in efforts to secure funding if requested. Groups comprising up to 4 veterinarians and/or nurses per VTV consultant are ideally suited to this intensive training format.
