Dear Friends of Animals Asia, Thank you to all of you who responded to our plea for help for dogs in the Philippines. Over a thousand letters against the legalisation of dog meat poured in from around the world and convinced the Philippine government officials to back track on their earlier plans. More than anything, this success shows that your voice really can, and does make a difference to the lives of animals in need. Please visit the following update on our website to find out more about the status of dog eating in the Philippines, plus our first ever " Friends or Food? Guest guest
Congratulations to the Philippines Animal Welfare Society and AAF for this positive development. PAWS was the host for the first Asia for Animals Conference which brought together many Asian groups for the first time. It led to many developments including starting Dr. Dog programmes in several other countries. It has shown that a great deal can be achieved if we all work together and support each others work and do not mind who gets the credit. May God bless Jill and Nina and their colleagues to enable them to carry on this great work. S.
