Guest guest
Dear all, Wish you all a very Happy New Year for the occasion of the Assamese New Year known as BIHU, Keeping this in mind the organization,People for Animals,Guwahati, Assam took up the decision of holding a local ,that is Indian Dog show on the 16th of April,2006.The show was highly appreciated by all and around fifty participants took part .Six prizes were awarded to the winners with the intention of encouraging the locals to adopt and keep these handsome Indian dogs instead of purchasing pedigree dogs at exorbitant prizes and these pedigree dogs fall sick easily.Whereas the Indian dogs as they are acclimatised with the climate they hardly fall sick and need very little care. The organisations chairperson , Sangeeta Goswami, also added that if every Indian home adopted an Indian dog the stray dog problem that India is facing would be curtailed to a certain extent and with this view in mind she has organised the show. The judges included two veterinarins ,one professor of Surgery , Veterinary College and an inspector of the SPCA (Assam) Messenger with Voice.
