Guest guest Posted May 19, 2006 Report Share Posted May 19, 2006 www.assamtribune.com Missing forest official rescued From Our Correspondent MANGALDOI, May 18 – Sri Labanya Kr Ramchiary, range officer, Manas Range Office, who was missing since May 5 has at last been rescued by Mangaldoi police in collaboration with Tripura police of Radha Krishna Nagar PS, Udaipur, on May 17. Abhijit Rava, Director, Manas National Park, expressed happiness over the action taken by Darrang SP, Raunak Ali Hazarika for the rescue act. Rava, told the Press today that Ramchiary was missing from Mangaldoi court where he went to give witness of a case under Arms Act in which Jiten Boro and Rohinath Daimary were involved. They were since arrested and sent to judicial custody. The DFOs H K Talukdar and S Momin (Wildlife) were present when the news of Ramchiary's recovery was announced. Ramchiary was rescued from a street in Tripura on May 17. Meanwhile, the SP ruled out Ramchiary's missing as a case of abduction since he received no threats or extortion demand, from anybody.
