Guest guest
Tuesday May 30, 2006-The Star Re-opening of wetlands park put off *PUTRAJAYA:* The re-opening of the Paya Indah Wetlands Sanctuary, closed since Feb 1 last year, has been postponed. Wildlife and National Parks Department director-general Datuk Musa Nordin said the opening date had to be deferred because rehabilitation work was not completed yet. " We have replanted some of the trees at the sanctuary and we are waiting for them to grow a bit bigger before opening the park, " he said here yesterday. " The trees were replanted to create more habitats for animals in the wetlands. We have repaired the infrastructure, " he said. " We have since seen an increase in the animal population. Hopefully, the sanctuary will attract more birds, especially water fowls. "
