Guest guest
Man's best friend a problem (CRI) 2006-05-02 Both pet and wild dogs have become such a problem in Shanghai's Pudong New Area that officials are planning to set up dog-control teams in order to investigate dog health, disputes and other issues. A local legislator proposed that more aggressive measures be taken to deal with problems caused by dogs and officials are working on creating the special teams. The Shanghai Daily reports that, according to an animal control official, about half of the disputes in the community are caused by pet dogs, including dog bites, dog fights and excrement. Meanwhile, as dogs become increasingly popular, incidences of rabies have risen as well, especially because many owners haven't vaccinated their pets. Police say there are 9,000 licensed dogs in the district, while unlicensed dogs might number three to four times as many. http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/citylife/2006-05/02/content_581993.htm __ On 7 Socceroos Central: Latest news, schedule, blogs and videos. http://au.sports./football/
