The goats were brought in long distance buses inside a dicky,with the engine also with it ,without food and water ,besides that twenty five of them clustered together and suffocated without any air and fifthy with their stool and urine.A group of volunteers of PFA and Honorary Animal Welfare officers of the AWBI ,(govt .of India)along with their chairperson,Sangeeta goswami rescued the goats at 4.30 pm yesterday, informed the local the officer in charge of the Jalukbari police station and tranfered the rescued goats to the PFA shelter home and hospital located at Hengerabari, Guwahati. The codition of the animals are deplorable ,they will need a thorough health check up. even after recieving threat calls from the traders the PFA volunteers promise to carry on their string operations. As Mr. Azam Siddiqui has stated in another e-mail, conditions in the north eastern states of India are truly deplorable and there is so little concern for animal welfare. S.
