Guest guest
I have not been out to the Best Friends Sanctuary in Utah, so I don't know if they have dining facilities on the grounds. However, I volunteered for 2 periods of time at the Best Friends Hurricane relief center in Tylertown, Mississippi. Although it seemed as though the majority of volunteers (who came from all over North America) were not vegetarian, Best Friends was strict about maintaining a vegetarian kitchen there. The 6-7 staff people I met that had come from the Sanctuary were vegetarian or vegan. Because of the no-meat rule, vegetarianism was often a topic of discussion at mealtimes. And, since everyone there obviously cared deeply about animals, this " enforced vegetarianism " and these discussions did cause the meat-eaters to think about their future food choices.
