Guest guest
Yesterday saw People For animals Guwahati very busy as all the volunteers set out early in the morning to the Maligaon market and the Beltola market of Guwahati city, fifteen hill mynahs were rescued from the Beltola market, out of which, four of them not mature enough to fly were handed over to the State zoo, all were without food etc for several hours together. Parakeets, munias and also sparrows were rescued from Maligaon market last Friday (actually we came to know that sparrows are cooked with chicken and served as Murg masala) there were around hundred and more sparrows, I was wondering why the population of sparrows were falling at this rate. A large number of doves were at the same time rescued from the residence of Akub Ali from Garigaon area,(where people say only gundas reside)our volunteers are so daring that they do noy fear at all.He was biooked under the WPA and remanded to the local jail. At jalukbari area PFA voluteers brought out six dead goats from the closed dickey of a State Transport bus>(the goats died due to the extreme heat and suffocation) the owner of the bus is absconding at this moment, but a case was registered against the driver, Md.Muslim Ali. Pups were rescued from a local shop at Maligaon they were kept in book shelves without space to move and without water and food. Another case was registered at the Dispur PS after a horse succunbed to death unable to carry a great load in this heat. The owner of the horse was apprehended in time and dragged to the PS, he was some Baldev Yadav. Now PFA is bent on preserving the natural beauty of a much sought after wetlands close to the Guwahati city that is DEEPAR BEEL..
