Guest guest
The below article was published in the daily newsletter " Haykakan Jamanak " (Armenian Times) on 24 August, 06. Translated from armenian: -------------------- The chairman of " Flourishing Armenia " party Gagik Tsarukyan purchased well-known hunting shop located on Khorenatsi str in central Yerevan and amplified with a wide range of new assortment. This became known some days ago, after appearance of advertisement on television. But one detail was missing in the advertisement: the president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan was not participating in the opening ceremony of the hunting shop, which was quite strange taking into account the existing inner political situation in the country. But the president, anyway, visited the newly opened shop yesterday evening and spent there about 40 minutes. It is unknown what he was doing there and what he was interested in, as the mass media was not invited to join the president. But we will not be mistaken stating that Kocharyan was interested in hunting weapons. As it is known, he is fond of hunting, though the way how he hunts can be hardly named hunting. Kocharyan likes to go hunting on helicopter. With a machine-gun in hands he sits by the opened door of the chopper and aims the future victim. When the escaping animal is found, the chopper lowers and the animal has no other choice but to feel the " pleasure " of dying from the bullets shot by the president of Armenia. Meeting a group of animals is much better. People say one president's burst from machine-gun can make the whole group feel the above mentioned " pleasure " . It's hard to say of course what the pleasure of such kind of hunting is, when there is no need to provide the family with food for several weeks or a will to sell as much meat as possible. In case such kind of hunting helps to oppose serious threats, which Armenia faces today, we may connive at it. The hunting season will soon start in Armenia. This is said conditionally of course as hunting is forbidden in Armenia and there are almost no other animals to hunt except some rabbits and birds. But the chopper, optical aim, a machine-gun and lack of any ban will probably help Kocharyan to find the " happy " deer or goat, ready to sacrifice itself for struggle with outer and inner threats faced by Armenia nowadays. ---------------------------
