Guest guest
Friday September 8, 2006 - The Star Learning from dugong I REFER to your report, " Idris sad over death of rescued baby dug<http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2006/9/7/nation/15356231 & sec=nati\ on>ong " (*The Star*, Sept 7). Although the dugong was weak when first sighted in waters off Terengganu, it had been successfully nursed back to health. But it could not wait. It could not wait for us to decide who should be in charge of it. Have we learnt anything from this episode? Have we learnt to be more proactive in making urgent decisions? Have we learnt to be more efficient in handling rescued wild animals? Most importantly, will we still take as long a time to make a decision should we encounter a similar situation? *CHEN PELF NYOK, Kuala Terengganu.*
