Guest guest Posted September 29, 2006 Report Share Posted September 29, 2006 Dog owner faces more charges - The Malay Mail -by SANGEETHA NAIR - WORKSHOP operator Wong Chin Chong, 36, who was charged with obstructing City Hall officers from removing his dog last month was slapped with two more charges at the City Hall magistrate's court yesterday. Wong was charged with possession of a brown pit bull and a white mongrel without a licence from City Hall. He was alleged to have committed the offence in August at 4.15pm at Wira Motor Workshop in Jalan Loke Yew. He was charged under the Federal Territory Dog Licensing By-Laws 3(1) of 1991 which carries a maximum fine of RM2,000 or one year imprisonment, or both. Wong claimed trial to both charges. The case will be heard on April 25, 2007. On Aug 29, Wong was charged with obstructing two City Hall officers, environmental health assistant officer T. Ponnakovandan and operations assistant administrator Ahmad Saini Ahmad from carrying out their duties. Tham also failed to show his identity card and refused to hand over the dogs. He was charged under Section 112 of the Local Government Act 1976 which carries a maximum six months' imprisonment or RM2,000 fine, or both. Magistrate Rasyihah Ghazali set Nov 20 for mention.
