Guest guest
dear friends wishing all of you a very happy diwali. i am writing to you this to start a campaign against the curropt forest officers who are not filing cases against the rich and the influential offenders but takes no time in filing a case against poor for the same offence. the matter is keeping our national bird a peacock captive and rendering it handicapp due to constant tying and caging. this has resulted in deformity due to captivity and also lack of balanced diet. than in spite of repeated request in writing not to release this captive animals, they are directly released in wild by procuring a health certificate from vet. please take note of these 3 cases and write to ccf wildlife Mr Pradeep Khanna who has been again and again requested by me personally to take personal interest and n no of written complaints. his landline no are 079-23254133 fax 079- 23254788 mobile 9427306163. please talk to him personally or register your revolt by fax as he does not take note of emails. case 1 may 2006 a printing press called snehal printing press on waghodia road vadodara has been keeping lots of birds in small cages. a poor boy who went inside saw apart from peigeons, parrots and 2 peacock in cages. he called me up and i informed the forest department, my volunteers went with the dept and saw that the the guard threw stone at one peacock and forced it out of the compound while the ohter one could not fly and kept sitting in the front garden. this was taken away by the forest after 3 days after the poor boy was mercilessly beaten up and we filed a police complain. the forest department has still not booked the owner under the wildlife protection act. i have filed repeated complaints even with minister of forest. the forest department is not ready to take statement of my volunteer or the boy who has seen the peacocks caged. on top of that the parrots that were captive since years and the peacock have been released in wild. another peacock was never found MAN NOT BOOKED AS HE IS VERY RICH AND INFLUENTIAL case 2 june 2006 a poor slum fellow forgot to cage the peacock and the peacock flew into someones res.they locked it and called us.we rescued the peacock again with leg deformities.the owner claimed he had got the eggs and also has another peacock totally deformed legs.both the peacocks where kept why? they used to put ghongroo around the legs and make them dance to music for entertainment. this was in kishanwadi area of heart of baroda city. the man was arrested and both the peacocks are at presently with vadodara zoo. MAN GOT ARRESTED CAUSE HE WAS POOR. we have everything he said on vedio case 3 july 2006 parul institute at wagodia village in vadodara had 5 caged peacocks. this time we went with 5 national news media.for one and half hour we were mobbed and police did not turn up.from the gate to cage is about 7 min walk during which time peacocks released from the cage but could not go far and remaind in a larger enclosure on man made tree.finally with help of police we got one peacock.even after repeated request in writing the man is not arrested and the remaining 4 peacocks are not found.this peacock also had deformity in leg and the students clearly tell that they had 8 and they do not know where the remaining 3 are. the forest dept has been given full 2 hrs cd about the whole episode and proof.all the press media has also filed a case of assault.onion and garlic were found in the peacock cages as this is one of the food given to peacocks is also on cd. MULTIMILLIONER PERSON WITH ALMOST 15 PRIVATE COLLAGES AND FUNDING FROM ABROAD.NOTHING DONE.the peacock immediately released to wipe proof of the deformed foot. please also note that its very difficult to catch a peacock from the wild.also as all of you might be knowing peacocks kept in captivity will not leave the place and if released would die as they cannot understand about natural predetors etc. please call up the ccf and pressurise him to take action and find the remaining peacocks.PLEASE HELP as i do not have enough fund to fight in court. luv snehal Gujrat SPCA
