The following is from Maria Lopez, of the International Movement Against

Bullfights. It is infuriating that the bullfighting industry would try to export

this cruelty to China yet again.

Dear Friends,

Once again the bullfighters are trying to expand their bloody business to China.

In 2004 they managed to hold a bullfight in Shanghai. In 2005 they tried to hold

one in Chengdu without success.

According to news published in a Mexican newspaper the bulls will be shipped on

the 13th of this month (Nov) to Chengdu. Others will be shipped 16th or 17th.

These bulls will be used in bullfights in Chengdu and Shanghai.

The article does not refer the dates in which these bullfights will take place,

(below the article in Spanish).

According to an article of today (below in Spanish also) one of the bullfights

will be held next 18th in Chongqing.

It's very important to prevent these bullfights, we must do it at all costs. We

cannot allow that these mafia expand their business of torture to other

countries.

Honorable Officials of China,

Through a Mexican newspaper we took knowledge that bulls are being sent to China

for bullfights that will take place in Chengdu and Shanghai.

The referred source states that the bulls will leave Mexico on the 13th of this

month and their destination is Chengdu.

I don't have any motives to distrust a news from a Mexican newspaper.

It's unbelievable that despite the protests concerning the bullfight performed

in Shanghai on 2004, your country persists in importing barbaric spectacles that

are unacceptable by the majority of countries that already have them.

I am sure that the majority of the Chinese people do not approve of these kind

of spectacles where animals are tortured in the name of entertainment.

I ask you to forbid these bullfights and legislate in order to protect not only

the animals in China but also to prevent the import of this or other medieval

spectacles like bullfights.

Yours sincerely

millones).
