Guest guest
I'm sitting here eating my veggie soup with ramen noodles and I thought I'd share my favorite find. If your town has an asian market, go there immediately. You can find plain ramen noodles (a staple in any kid's diet and this is packaged without the nasty, salty flavorings), any other type of noodle, canned seitan CHEAP, all sorts of sauces you can throw over veggies, rice and noodles (like Pad Thai, curries, peanut), fresh asian veggies, frozen dumplings to heat and serve on the fly, frozen Indian breads that fry up quick, red bean ice cream (my downfall) and so much more. Most of this can be bought much cheaper than in natural food stores. I've been wary of imported foods lately, but I'm taking it one product at a time now. No problems so far. My daughter's favorite lunch box surprise is cold soba noodles (LOTS of protein) with a bottled peanut sauce in a thermos. Just thought I'd share! Guest guest
Hi Jill, Do you make your own peanut sauce or do you buy it? Guest guest
So what do you put on the noodles to make the kiddoes like em? Shari (very > new to all of this) > Honestly, my kids have pretty sophisticated palettes, compared to their friends. They like a lot of the bottled Asian sauces (most are NOT vegan, as fish sauce is a major ingredient). Most of the time, they'll put butter on them, which doesn't sound so good with rice noodles, but hey, they're eating it! I try to make a homemade peanut sauce every other week and it keeps well. That goes good on most noodles.
