Guest guest
When I first became a vegetarian seven years ago, I was surprised at the negative reactions I had from my family after I read so much information about how wonderful the diet was to my body. It just seemed plain and simple to me that it was the best way of life. I guess I expected everyone to be happy about my decision. I got a lot of the, oh, you are going to get so weak over time, I knew so and so and they were vegetarian for a while, but. blah blah blah I was determined to show everyone that I will be just as strong as before if not stronger. I ended up running in several 10k's, helped in the remodel of my own house, and had two healthy babies born over eight pounds and over nine pounds. Now, my family says to me, oh, well you are so healthy. I guess their ideas have changed about vegetarians over the last seven years because I have proven to them by my health that it works to be a vegetarian. When people have ailments, I say to them, well, you might want to cut out some of the dairy or some of the red meat that you eat, etc. It takes a while to make such a big change in other's lives. You can't do it over night. _____
