Guest guest
I'll second that request -- we bought an Excalibur a couple of months ago. One of our favourite things so far has been dried pineapple. I think we have probably literally gone through 40 or 50 pineapples since we got the dehydrator. Kiwis are also yummy. I have also used the paralex sheets to make fruit leather -- it's very simple, just throw any mix of fruit into a blender, then pour on the sheet and dehydrate. But I would like to start doing some different things with it. Guest guest
How did you dehydrate the pineapples? I tried it once, but vowed I'd never do it again because the taste/texture was horrible!
Guest guest
I just slice them about 1/4 inch thick (with a knife -- I really need to get a mandoline!) and lay them on the trays. They take a while. I let them go until they are dry but not brittle. They're sweet and delicious. I start them at a higher temperature for the first few hours, then turn them down to " live food " range and they generally take another 10 hours or so. It's still really trial and error for me, I don't know a whole lot about this. Heather admartin5 wrote: > > How did you dehydrate the pineapples?
