Guest guest
How about doing a search for homeopathic or naturopathic physicians? There are websites that give doctor listings by state. I don't have the websites saved, but maybe someone else does, if you can't find them. Or try asking your local vegan/vegetarian groups for referrals. Maybe someone there is a parent who uses someone good--or can tell you who to avoid! Marilyn **************Ideas to please picky eaters. Watch video on AOL Living. Guest guest
Does anyone know of a good veg friendly pediatrician in the Philly metro area? If not, do you know of a source for finding pediatricians familiar with a vegan diet?
Guest guest
Rather than a pediatrician, I would suggest that you find a family practioner. Family doctors tend to be more open to alternatives and are more likely to treat the patient, not the disease. food4u1575 <dana.sommers wrote: Does anyone know of a good veg friendly pediatrician in the Philly metro area? Guest guest
We found our family doc through our midwives' office. If you have any locally, or even nurse practitioners, you might be able to call and ask them who they like to work with. When our doc was recommended, they said that they really liked to work with her, and that she'd probably be a good fit for us, and they were right. Guest guest
If there is a local attachment parenting organization, I would ask those members. Chances are some of those families are veggie and/or conscious eaters and probably know a good ped. or family practice doc. I second that thought about family practitioners. Ours treats illnesses, gives us his opinion when we ask for it, and doesn't pretend to tell us how to parent. Kyle Overland Park, KS Kyle Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
we've had a similar experience in KY - Ped knows our son is vegan and hasn't ever batted an eye. Maybe that's why he was on a recent list of top drs in the country. >Jacqueline Bodnar <jb >Feb 18, 2008 8:39 AM > >RE: Re: Veg Friendly Pediatricians > > >Just an average pediatrician (one not recommended as being vegearian >friendly) may be vegetarian friendly.
