Guest guest
Hello everyone, I just wanted to thank you all for your input on the vegetarian discrimination issue. Pulling my son out the program is not really an option or, at least, I don't want to do that as he's made friends there and they're actually kind of curious about him being a vegetarian. Maybe he can even convert some of these kids into vegetarians! Ironically, my husband, who's a vegan, doesn't believe this is discrimination. He thinks the administrators have accommodated us by allowing us to bring in a vegetarian lunch for our son and he feels they have no obligation to heat it up. We have only a few more months of pre-K school left, so if I want him to have a a hot lunch I'll just have to put it in a thermos, as some of you suggested. Do any of you know of a good, environmentally-friendly, toxin-free thermos container? Thanks! Carina
Guest guest
It occurs to me that they may be forbidden to heat things up sent from home because of potential food borne illness problems- how long was it kept at what temp etc. If the parent packs a " cold " lunch or a thermos with hot food it's the parent's responsibility to minimize contamination, use cold packs etc etc. D >Carina <cdwl >Feb 25, 2008 11:13 AM > > vegetarian discrimination > >Hello everyone, > >I just wanted to thank you all for your input on the vegetarian >discrimination issue.
