i don't know about anyone else but i would stear clear of baby products for

eczema. they may be gentle but they are almost all fragranced and that is

torture for sensitive skin. plus, they are not rich enough in moisturizers.

i have tried some of the oils now and shea butter and they seem good.

thanks,

heather

The straight oils are best - no added preservatives, and easily

absorbed by the body. To add to your note, I would only use organic

oils on baby. When DS had eczema breakouts, we just used the oils

(almond, calendula, coconut, vitamin E, TTO, lavender) - different

oils for different severity of the eczema.

The one thing to be aware of with a lot of the cream you buy at Wal-

Mart, or Walgreens, etc is that many of them actually weaken the top

layer of the skin. While they seem to be working because they coat

the skin with a heavy layer of petroleum and other substances, those

same substances are working to weaken the skin. Petroleum products act

like little tiny shards workinginto the skin, and steroid creams

(including hydrocortisone creams) also make the top layer of skin weak

and prone to further outbreaks.

Baths with oatmeal are also very helpful when the itchies are bad. We

tried baths with epsom salts too, but they did not help as much as the

oatmeal baths.
