Guest guest
Are you able to get preservative free vaccines? I would add--are you able to discuss not vaccinating at ALL with your doctor, if that's your choice, or at least spreading out the vaccines to a more safe schedule, and NOT " clustering " them (splitting up the MMR and DPT, for example--which many peds will say " isn't possible " -- it is), picking and choosing WHICH vaccines to give, and being allowed to read the actual package and package INSERT to insure that the vaccine is TRULY mercury free. See the www.tacanow.com website for information about alternative vaccine schedules, or the many vaccine info websites about not vaccinating, and finding legitimate exemptions in your state. > telling > me my kids are Too skinny because they are not in the 'new baby hgt/wgt scale'. Good for kiddos under one. We drink this, too. Also try grinding up sesame seeds and adding them to recipes, feeding tahini, and adding greens to smoothies. Also try not to worry about calcium intake too much. When eating a lower protein vegetarian diet, your body can more readily absorb and utilize the calcium it gets from plant sources, unlike with meat eaters. use > the magic bullet thingy my mom gave me and mash up beans of all sorts to make > a little wrap for her and I. You have all the " dieticians " you need, right here! You don't need an " expert " to tell you what to do, unless you have unusual health needs, which you never said you did. If your child is getting a varied diet of fruits, veggies, beans, and grains, you're doing GREAT! Marilyn
Guest guest
Why don't you try a nourishing herbal infusion everyday. Many herbs have tons of available calcium and tons of iron. Off the top of my head I can think of nettles and oatstraw as good sources of both. I drink a quart everyday. Since the infusions are food and not medicine you really shouldn'thave any problems with it at all. Nettles are also known for increasing one's milk supply as well as the quality of the milk. Oatstraw is also known to calm stressed nerves something new moms know all about. You may also want to add some red raspberry leaf to the infusion. If you are nursing all of those great nutrients go into your breast milk. You might want to check out a couple of Susan Weed's books. She has one especially for the childbearing year. My younger 2 children are vegetarian, the little one from birth and the older one for a couple of years and my oldest is vegan. They are all far far from underweight and undernourished. My middle daughter was 15 weeks early and only weighed 1 lb 10.5 ounces. I was vegan and my husband and I insisted that she get only breast milk. The Dr's gave me such a hard time but in the end she was the only one of the babies born at the same time and nearly the same weight that went home on no medication with no medical problems. We know that it is because we insisted on the breast milk. To make an infusion, take one ounce of total herb and add 1 quart of boiling water. Let this steep for at least 4 hours. I make mine the night before and leave it overnight. The vitamins and minerals infuse into the water. In the morning I strain out the herbs and drink the infusion all day long. If you don't finish the entire quart refrigerate it and drink it the second day. Don't leave them for more than the 2 days. If there is any left over you can use it as plant food. Don't let the Dr intimidate you. You are the mother and you know what is good for your child. If he can't wrap his head around that then find another Dr. There are plenty of them that do get it. sahmomof8 <sahmomof8 wrote: Are you able to get preservative free vaccines? Guest guest
We spread out vaccines and our doctor special-ordered preservative-free. sahmomof8 <sahmomof8 wrote: Are you able to get preservative free vaccines?
