Guest guest
We're going to Disney World (Orlando) and would like to buy and prepare food while there to save money. Can anyone recommend any places in Orlando where we can find fresh organic produce and other organic foods? Also, are there any vegan restaurants in the Orlando area that you can recommend based on personal experience?
Guest guest
We used to live in Orlando and spent lots of time at Disney! AS far as the parks go, Animal Kingdom and Epcot will have the best variety for you. In MGM and Magic Kingdom, it's veggie burgers or cheese quesadillas. The staff is very willing to accomodate, though, anywhere you go inside Disney. A new WF just opened a little east of Disney on I-4 at the Sand Lake exit - it's right off the freeway. Infusion Tea is in College Park, about 10 miles east on I-4. It is owned by a good friend of mine, Christina, and her husband. If you stop there, tell them I said hello They make great wraps and salads. The whole menu is veg, mostly organic and lots of vegan choices. Tons of tea options! Dandelion, in Thornton PArk, is good too - great veggie chili and live music sometimes too! There is a Dim Sum place on Colonial, but I can't remember the name, so that doesn't help much... Have fun! Guest guest
Etho's Vegan Kitchen is located on Orange Avenue in Downtown Orlando, and is the best! This may be a 15 minute drive from your Disney area hotel. Depending on when you will be in the area, there is a Whole Foods due to open soon in Kissimmee. As was mentioned, all supermarkets and most restaurants are also very accommodating. .... Danielle
