And people citing the

Exactly! We have dominion over our children as well, but we sure

don't eat them! :) I am going to buy this bumper sticker I saw

recently-- " What would Jesus eat...today? " . Yes, some of the

disciples did fish for a living. We can PRESUME that Jesus MAY have

eaten fish or even maybe lamb, at feasts. We don't KNOW that He did.

He was all about compassion. How does that fit in with the killing of

animals when we have everything God planned for us to eat readily

available without killing for it?

I read the popular " Left Behind " series years ago when it first came

out. While it didn't exactly completely match my own religious

beliefs, I enjoyed the series a lot--until they got to the book about

the Rapture, and afterwards in Heaven. They portrayed the animals

LINING UP to HAPPILY be slaughtered for the people to eat--IN

HEAVEN!!! Oooooooh NO. I was appalled. Just horrified. I couldn't

beleive it!

A compassionate God simply doesn't logically mesh with the killing of

innocent creatures. Marilyn

There is a verse in the Bible

Luke 24:42-43, " And they gave him (Jesus) a piece of a broiled fish, and of an

honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them. "

He also fed the 5000 peopl with fish and bread, so I assume that he was not

against eating fish or they would have all eaten bread or some sort of plant

food.

Thanks for the insight,

Jill
