Guest guest
I love this smoothie - and all the smoothies that Victoria Boutenko has in her various books! , Namaska7 wrote: > > Here is a great recipe for a Green Smoothie ; taught to me by Victoria > Boutenko > 2 Apples > 2 cups Kale > 1 lemon (place organic lemon in vita mix whole > ) > Fill Vita Mix with Water > Blend and Strain > Your Gonna Love It ! > _www.aliveandraw.com_ (http://www.aliveandraw.com) > Create A Day Full Of Blessings; > Lynda Carter > > > > **************Get trade secrets for amazing burgers. Guest guest
Thanks for posting this! I've tried the kale and apple together and love it, and my kids love it too. However, I don't put any water in the VitaMix - you really don't need it if you use the pusher to help the VitaMix blend everything. I think adding to much water to the mixture may interfere with digestive juices. I'm not sure and would like to hear what others know about this. I drink the smoothie without straining. I will try the smoothie with the lemon to see how things change in terms of taste.
Guest guest
it's recommended that no more than one cup of water is consumed during a meal, if any at all, because of dilution of digestive juices. but this is a very hard habit for me to break. combining lemon with greens often helps to cut the bitterness that can make it unappetizing. this is especially true with wheatgrass. chandelle On Mon, May 26, 2008 at 7:09 AM, <admartin5 wrote: > Thanks for posting this! > > I've tried the kale and apple together and love it, and my kids love it > too. Guest guest
I only add water to smoothies if the fruit has a low water content - like bananas. Sometimes I add a stalk of celery instead of the water - I would rather get " live " water than tap added to a smoothie. I never drain a smoothie - that would take all the fun out of it:) Susan , <admartin5 wrote: > > Thanks for posting this! > > I've tried the kale and apple together and love it, and my kids love it too.
