Hi Admartin,

I use a metal scrubbing brush, which I think would act just like brillo

pads, and then I re-season - starting all over with re-oiling and

heating it up in the oven for an hour, and the rust goes right away.

Good luck!

How do you clean the rust off of cast iron? I've tried using brillo pads

but the rust color keeps coming back.

add oil, not olive. heat and wipe out with paper towel. there should be a very

thin oil barrier in the pan. :)
