All you wonderful folks:

I am looking for a good recipe which will hook my family to Tempeh. My

husband is very flexible (we both grew up being vegetarians).

Growing in India, we did;nt have access to Tempeh and i am exploring it now. My

experience has been,  if the first time i introduce something new to my family,

if it tastes good, they are ok with trying variations of same. I also have a 3

year old and we are raising him vegetarians (and his daycare is wonderful and

aware and supportive about it).

With that, can you all help me where i can find as fresh a Tempeh as i can get?

We have all major stores (WF, CM etc) here in Austin, TX

Also, some good recipes to cooking with it.

Thanks.

This recipe is from another group (I don't remember which one).  It is amazing!

Linguine with Calm Sauce

4 oz. (1/2 pack tempeh, freeze the balance to use

another time)

1 tbl olive oil

1/2 sm. onion finely chopped

1 crushed garlic clove

1/2 heaping tsp. Old Bay Seasoning

1/8 tsp. black pepper

quick small splash lemon juice

5 tbls. water

Parmesan

Boil 4-6 ozs. linguine, al dente

While pasta is cooking make sauce.

Steam tempeh 15 minutes.  Place in bowl and crumble

with a fork, set aside.

Saute onion and garlic in olive oil.  Add water and

when almost boiling add Old Bay Seasoning, tempeh,

black pepper and a spash of lemon juice.  Turn heat

down on low, stir to heat through for a few minutes.

Take pasta and toss with a small amount of olive oil,

add sauce mixture and Parmesan and toss to coat.

Enjoy
