Guest guest
Greetings All, My daughter gets on a bus for school at 6:03 and has lunch around 11:30; a snack is a must to get her through the morning, especially since it is sometimes a challenge to ger her to eat anything at 5:30. Last year, she brought bars (granola, lara, etc.), and is still sick of them, though acknowledges their value; sometimes she would take a container of pretzels, dried fruit, and a few chocolate chips, but this is too spillable. I have been racking my brain for alternatives, but I'm sure that we are back to an assortment of bars. Quick and easy recipes are welcome! Guest guest
You can make coffee cake or tofu scramble the night before. Also there are smoothies that can be taken in a thermos. robin koloms <rkoloms Friday, August 15, 2008 4:05:07 PM Snack Suggestions Greetings All, My daughter gets on a bus for school at 6:03 and has lunch around 11:30; a snack is a must to get her through the morning, especially since it is sometimes a challenge to ger her to eat anything at 5:30. Guest guest
One of my favorite breakfasts/snacks is your favorite cereal mixed with some yogurt, dairy or soy. When I saw 'thermos', it made me think that keeping the yogurt in a thermos, and cereal separate for when you are ready to mix the two, would be great. Unless, of course, your daughter likes her cereal soggy! As I said, this is one of my favorites and it keeps you full for a long while! , Heather Farlow <farjoy2 wrote: > > You can make coffee cake or tofu scramble the night before. Guest guest
Thank you for all of the suggestions. Yogurt and granola is a pretty standard breakfast for us, but too hard to eat between classes. We have been relying on the bars because they are so easy to eat. I plan to start making bars as soon as it is cool enough to turn on the over. Feel free to share your favorite recipes!
