Thank you!! We live way south in Henderson, so that's kind of far for us. I

saw the doctor today whose nurse had told me that DD was " chicken-deficient " and

she was truly surprised. She said that even though DD is thin, she feels that

she is perfectly healthy and thriving on a veg diet. She said that the nurse

was wrong and she would talk to him. Then she told me she gave up pork, and she

and her husband feel so much better they are considering giving up all meat.

How cool is that? She is a mainstream, middle-aged MD and is listening to her

body! It made my day. Anyway, thanks for the recommendation & support.

RE: Veg-friendly Ped. nutritionist or RD in Las Vegas

Hi Liz,

Although I left Vegas a year and half ago, I did live there for 10 years

prior to that. I took my kids to the Fremont Children's Clinic next to

MountainView Hospital. The doctor they saw was Dr. Neiman, pronounced

Naymen (not sure how he spelled it, can't remember). While he was not a

vegetarian, he completely knew and understood that we were. He was very

open to the idea. I remember when I first told him that we were raising

our daughter vegetarian (this was before my son was born) he said that

she would most likely be eating much better than her peers and he

thought it was great! He was actually impressed that we were going to

raise her vegetarian.

He's a great doctor, very nice, and a hockey fan to boot (so am I). You

can find the site for the clinic here:
