We had Klean Kanteen water bottles and they did not hold up well (the bottoms

leaked).  The Sigg have held up much better!

After finding out that Gerber's sippy cups aren't BPA-free, I have

been on the hunt for stainless stell sippy cups. They are expensive! I

have found 3: Foogo (by thermos), Safe sippy, and Klean Kanteen. I was

wondering what experience others have had with these brands before I

commit. So far, I have found the leat expensive to be Safe Sippy, so I

am leaning towards that one. I will need 4, two for each of my boys. I

will just have to figure out how I will juggle soy milk, juice and

water between the 2! Ugh... Why does convenience have to be so toxic??

Thanks in advance for your help.

If your Klean Kanteen's leaked, you should contact the company or the people you

bought them from. I have owned KK's for about eight years and the last four I

have sold them in my store. I've never had the bottoms leak. I have had

(recently) some issues with the caps, but I replace any caps free if they break

and I'm sure most retailers will. I heard that Sigg has an stainless steel

option now (previously they were alluminum with a coating which always worried

me) which is great news!

I have a Foogo and like it although it is HEAVY and my 20 month old

can throw it like a quarterback.

It is great for smoothies though and keeps stuff cold for a ridiculous

amount of time.

My two kids use Foogo Thermos brand. I have been using them for years and love

them. They use one for water during the day and the other in there lunch with

juice or lemonade ect. It really keeps there drinks cold all day long too.

Yes, they are expensive but worth it to me. Good luck.

We have Siggs too and they have held up really well. Great for WalMart but

I still hate and hardly ever shop there! The place just gives me the

icks:) So if you already have these cups what should you do with them. I

already have some Gerber cups now I will stop using them but now what?

How did they leak on the bottom?

We do like our Klean Kanteens. The main thing I like about them is that

they come in several sizes and each size fits the same lids -- and they

have a number of different styles of lids. We have a couple of each type

of lid so we just grab the size and lid style we need for wherever we're

going. Very flexible.

I do find our older ones that have gotten banged up are a bit warped on

the bottom and don't sit flat anymore, but we haven't had leakage

problems and we've been using them constantly for well over a year (and

they're being lugged in kids' backpacks every day, I've even seen my

kids playing catch with them and missing :-( ). The newer ones we have

have an indented part in the bottom, and those ones don't seem to have

gotten banged out of shape -- not sure if they just haven't been dropped

as much, or if the indent is there to prevent that.

The bottom on two bottles has begun to separate from the bottle.

Depends what your area recycles though. Our city only does #s 1 and

2 plastics. I feel like I'm always throwing things away! :(
