Guest guest
I have noticed this for years, but it is never explained anywhere. I guess it's one of those things we're just culturally " supposed " to know, sort of like by osmosis or something. Call me an idiot, but I have NO idea what this is about, and thought maybe someone here could enlighten an old lady with limited brain capacity! Here's the question: Why do some people, when they write the word " vegan " leave out the " a " and put a * instead? What's that about? Marilyn **************Psssst...Have you heard the news? There's a new fashion blog, plus the latest fall trends and hair styles at StyleList.com. Guest guest
Ohhhhhh. So if I say I'm " veg*n " , then, it means I could be EITHER, and I'm not saying which. Right? Guest guest
It's to indicate vegans and vegetarians at the same time - folks who title themselves veg*n with either and " a " or an " etaria " in there. " represents exactly one space, and " * " represents any number of spaces, which are filled in with wildcard letter(s) and/or symbol(s). Clear as mud?
