I received a gift card to Books A Million, and I drove past it this evening.

So, I got to thinking how I would spend my card- marriage or child-rearing? LOL

Well, if you didn't guess, my daughter won! :) So, any sugestions on where you

all got your great ideas?

Even though I am vegentarian, I am fairly conservation when it comes to family,

rules, behaviors, appearance, but I am totally open to any and all ideas.

Thanks in advance,

Cassie

The dr. Sears books always seem to click for me. :)

I also like 1-2-3 magic for discipline. When it stops working, we re-read

and had good luck with it. I lent my copy to my SIL, as she mentioned having

power struggles/tantrums etc with my neice. She read it and said she was

going to buy 2 of them for her and her husband.

Just to chime in.... 1-2-3 Magic worked great with my now-10yo

stepdaughter. We used it last year while I was pregnant (she really

needed boundaries set much earlier than that, and we did try, but this

method worked best - she will even tell you that it works). So I don't

know about toddlers, but the idea of giving them the chance/choice to

work out their own behavior, and being very consistent about the rules

and age-appropriate consequences is a very good one, imo.
