Does anyone have any experience with faux leather sofas and chairs?

What about microfiber? I have cats and an active child. I'd like

something that's easy to clean and wears well. Does the faux leather

and microfiber off-gas a lot? I like modern furniture, but a lot of it

is done in leather, so I'm looking for something comparable. Thanks!

We bought a microfiber couch a few years ago. It is very soft and comfortable

but stains easily (even water stains it) which is not great if you have young

kids. We had to put a cover on it to protect it.

We have a cotton futon on a wood frame (great for sleepovers and out of town

company).  We have a couple of washable covers for it.
