severe allergyc reaction

My husband is vegetarian and My son and I, we are pretty much vegan.

Unfortunately three weeks ago my husband got this horrible cough and the doctor

prescribed him an antibiotic: Amoxicillin. My husband decided to take it because

the cough help his herniated disk to get worse to the point of getting close to

having a surgery (He took some medicine for the inflamation of the nerve) .

Anyway after almost 7 days of taking the antibiotic he developed this severe

allergic reaction (All his mouth swolen and the itching and redness) for the

last 6 days he has not been sleeping well because of the iitching. His doctor

prescribed steroids to get over the reaction. He is getting a little better

now.  Question: Could you please help me with any information about how to help

my husband to cleanse his system after he finishes taking the steroid? Natural

ways? Something that I can give to him? . Please help me.

Oh I am sorry to hear of the bad reaction to amoxcicillin! I have a

penecillin allergy, but I never took more than one dose before feeling like

I had something stuck in my throat. A good friend had the itchiness and

hives/rash on his hands and feet. I think he was told to take benedryl for

the itching, you should ask your Dr. Or see if there is something else for

easing the itchiness.

 

As for detox, yogurt with live active cultures will help restore the natural

flora in the bowels. There is also acidophilis he could take that does the

same thing -found in the health food store.
