Guest guest
Hi, Can anyone recommend a pillow with a similar consistency to down? Something that feels kind of weighty, but gives when you put your head on it. Do those pillows filled with hulls meet these criteria? I've never used one. I'd prefer something natural but will go with anything at this point. I finally threw out the down pillows I've had for way too long (bc I knew I wouldn't replace them), and I'm having problems sleeping. I slept with a down body pillow over me...weird, I know. I have pillow issues. Have done it since childhood! :-)
Guest guest
I've never had a down pillow, but I sell natural rubber pillows and have customers tell me they remind them of down. My husband likes his buckwheat pillow, but again I don't know how it compares. Guest guest
The buckwheat hull ones are firm, but they conform to your head shape, kind of. My husband has one and he just loves it. I have different pillows, for different ways that I sleep sometimes -one will be comfortable one night then it's not, and the other one works. (I am allergic to down, which I found out a long time ago - my grandma had them in the spare bedroom, and I could never breathe in the AM when we stayed over there.) I have one that is whatever poly-fill and one that is some kind of foam core wrapped thing. I want to eventually get one of the tempurpedic ones (we have a topper on our bed which is a foam mattress, and it's just lovely and from what we compared, just as comfy as the full on very expensive Tempur-bed thing). I don't know what to suggest, as I always recall down being to flat, and offering no support (at least to my liking when we stayed at grandma's). Maybe one of the thin, soft poly-filled type pillows would work similarly? Good luck! I have general sleep issues, so I know it can be rough getting the right fit for sleeping. Guest guest
I LOVE my " Sobakawa " brand pillow. It is filled with buckwheat husks. I have had it for at least 12-13 years now and it is still holding up well. The brand was popular back then because of the infomercials on t.v. That's what convinced me to buy one. I found it in a drugstore. It is heavy and forms to your head and neck. It also keeps your head/neck cool. , " ah23the " <ah23the wrote: > > Hi, > > Can anyone recommend a pillow with a similar consistency to down? > Something that feels kind of weighty, but gives when you put your head > on it.
