my son also recieved a toy kitchen as a gift this year. his didn't come with

many pieces of wooden food, and the food we did buy was all fruits and veggies.

it did have a pizza, which has pepperoni on it, but he calls it veggie pepperoni

because we do eat that sometimes on our pizza. we call the cheese that came with

the kitchen soy cheese. there was an egg with the set, and there is nothing we

eat that looks like the egg (it's sunny-side-up style), so we are just going to

give it to a friend who has a kitchen set who eats eggs. personally, i wouldn't

let him play with any of the food items that we can't find a vegan substitute

for.

Hi Allison,

Can the egg be called " soy yogurt with an apricot on top " ? :-) If not,

I'm sure the friend will love it. :-) (On a different issue, we just

learned that one of the Scooby Doo villains in the intro song is called

" Gun Slinger " and since we have a no weapons policy in our home, and he

never actually slings a gun in the intro song on the dvds we have, our

son renamed him " Waffle Slinger " and off we all went happily. " Soy

yogurt with apricot on top " might be your " Waffle Slinger. " ) :-)

Happy wooden food cooking,

Lorraine
