discussion group for tweens was: Penpals for kids

Hiya,

Our thanks to Sara and her daughter for being willing to compile a list!

When this issue first came up, it occurred to me that it had come up before -- a

few years ago -- and that someone then had started a discussion group just for

tweens.

I just checked, and there is indeed a discussion group for tweens, ages

9-12. Its called veggie-tweens. There are currently 12 members. This would be

yet another way for our tweens to talk.

Hi!

I have a suggestion.. . would you want to email me privately with

names, ages and email addresses of children who want a pen pal; I'll

compile a list, and then, say, after a week or two, anybody who would

like that list can email me and I'll send it to them? If anybody who

has already emailed me does NOT want their child on the list, let me

know. If the consensus is " yes, " I will get started on that.

I know my daughter is really excited - she is already typing up a

" hello " email to send out. There aren't many vegetarians around here

(actually, none) and although she likes the concept, she is unhappy

being different from all the other kids and having them make fun of

her.

Also - whoever recommended the newmoon.com website - thank you, it

looks great!
