Leah Vegetarian baby food

I pretty much did the same things as Leah.

My daughter's first food was avocado.  Next came banana.  Smash with a fork and

add breastmilk (or water) to get the consistency you would like.

I think of myself as a planner, but when it came to babies, I was CLUELESS!!!!

We didn't start foods until mid-month 6, and when I think about it now, those

were 6 LONG months.  You have plenty of time to prepare.

Enjoy the baby as long as possible.  If you do serve food from the table, make

sure it is free of salt.

I don't know if this'll help you in what you're looking for but... I

used fresh veggies and fruits for my baby's food. The only thing you

have to add to it is water occasionally, for the right consistency for

your babies age. Anyway, once I cooked/boiled and mashed/blended them

and made it all into mush I used ice cube trays to freeze the the

extra food and they made perfect serving sizes for later. I started

out with just a blender, then someone gave me a food processor, and

for the meals on the go - if we out for dinner (this is when he got a

little older) - I found a baby food grinder for like $10 in the baby

aisle. It was a little bulky in the diaper bag, but worth it when I

wanted him to try new foods. (He's 2 now, and NOT a picky eater:D).

For what it's worth, I really had no idea what babies ate - once they

got to the food-stage - and I just went through the baby food aisle

and started with the veggies and fruits I saw in the jars for that age

group and got them in the produce dept. I felt better knowing how the

food was processed and cleaned and stored, etc. Eventually I ventured

out into other fruits and veggies besides just what I saw on the

shelves at in the baby food aisle.

Good luck and congrats! My second baby is due at the end of this

month, a girl this time:D
