Guest guest
I am a vegan SAHM to a vegan toddler, and wife to an omni hubby as well. My daughter is nearly two and eats like a " normal " two year old, as in she really only wants crackers and chocolate soy milk. We do manage to feed her pretty well, and only had a small amount of meat product in her whole life. (My husband didn't check the baby food labels and bough Peas and Carrots without noticing it had chicken broth in it.) She loves beans, rice, onions(weird, huh), bananas, mangoes, pasta & cauliflower the best. She used to like potatoes, but doesn't now. My mother-in-law can't believe she eats so healthy since her boy cousins do not. I only introduce her to what I want her to eat. There is no such thing as a chicken nugget in her life. She doesn't talk about not eating animals, but I do. If an instance ever brings it up, I just say, " We don't eat animals " , in the same tone I would say, " We don't eat cars " so she understands the thought of even trying is ridiculous. My husband doesn't eat omni at home. He eats what I cook for us. He really doesn't enjoy cooking a separate meal for himself, but once in a while, he'll buy something for himself. Just last night, though, he helped me make Vegan Dad's fake sausages, (which can be found here http://vegandad.blogspot.com/2008/03/homemade-sausages.html). He loves trying different spices depending on what we are using them in. Anyway, I seem to ramble. Dawn M.
Guest guest
good to know i am not alone, here! with the " sausage " recipe...does the wheat gluten give it that chewy texture? i may try that, this weekend. i worry about the beans though...hubby is so anti-bean! maybe he won't notice. , Dawn Meisch <a_new_dawn wrote: > > I am a vegan SAHM to a vegan toddler, and wife to an omni hubby as well. > > My daughter is nearly two and eats like a " normal " two year old, as in > she really only wants crackers and chocolate soy milk. > We do manage to feed her pretty well, and only had a small amount of > meat product in her whole life.
