I was looking at my tylenol bottle and noticed that there is gelatin in the

inactive ingredients. We have only been vegetarian for 3 1/2 months and I had

no clue gelatin was in there. So my question is what does everyone use as a

pain reliever!

Thanks,

Michelle & Devin

Are those gelcaps? I wouldn't think the regular white tablets would

have gelatin in them, but

I may be wrong.

Hi Michelle,

We use homeopathic arnica tablets under the tongue and depending on the

type of pain, either cold or warm packs or Traumeel cream topically.

(Arnica and Traumeel are available at health food stores, or we have

gotten them at our chiropractor's office, too.) And you can get

homeopathic blends specifically for back pain, headache, sinus pain,

etc. that might help.

Good luck!

I use ibuprophen or aspirin.  Occasionally will use tylenol.  As far as I know

none of the tablets of any of those have gelatin.  Only soft-gels or gel-caps

(have gel for gelatin in the name) would have gelatin in them.  Here is a link

to tylonel tablets:

We also use the tablets (Iburprophen, store brand usually since it's

all the same stuff - I do read the labels to be sure there's nothing

hiding in there that I don't want). I also suffer from migraines and

have the following ritual: hottest hot shower pounding on my head and

afterwords I use my migrastick (it's a blend of peppermint and

lavender oils in a roll on vial that really helps me with the nausea

problems - they used to have them at Wild Oats, but I've not had to

look for them in a while, so they maybe have it at Whole Foods or

other natural foods type stores/health food stores) and then go lay

down in a dark and quiet room. I usually also end up having to take an

OTC migraine reliever like Excederine migraine, but I also get the

generics for that one (which if I take it early enough wards it off

from having to lose a whole or half a day of life, though sometimes it

doens't work at all).

Actually I think that's in the wrong order - I take the Migraine

medicine and use the migrastick, and if it's not working then I do the

hot shower/migrastick/sleep routine if I can).

I only ever get the tablets, never saw gelatin in them.
