Organic would be nice. If you have advice on schools, that would be helpful, too! (Our girls are entering 6th and 8th grades). Thanks, very much! First learn how to say i don't eat meat in mandarin " wo bu chi rou " . knowing the character for meat is also helpful. chinesepod.com is a good place to start. it was actually pretty easy eating vegetarian in shanghai. i ate out a lot (atleast once a day, its so cheap), and just shopped in the local market (learn the hand signs for numbers) and also in the local supermarket. in the morning look around on corners for people with stacks of bamboo steamers and ask for " chai (vege) baozhi " . so good. i remember going to a few " western " supermarkets where everything is imported - french cheese etc. i think there's info about them in the lonely planet guide. one is near a subway stop, the names on the tip of my tongue .... sorry i dont have more info! all the best, amy. , " alisondillemuth " <alisondillemuth wrote: > > We are moving with husband's business to Shanghai, China this summer.
