Guest guest
:-( I am sorry, I didn't mean to come across as disrespectful. I was trying to directly reply to the question you asked. I didn't think you were being an overindulgent mother, just thought that maybe by asking the questions I did that you might see it from a different point of view (the question you asked, not zoos in general- I totally get that you are not 'supportive' of zoos). I can see how my reply could be read as sarcastic, but in my head I sounded curious. And please, don't feel that you need to reply to every individual reply to your messages, especially when you've already covered a specific subject in your previous reply. You do not have to explain yourself to me, you don't owe me anything. :-) I know how tiresome it gets typing the same thing over and over. So, you can just ignore me if I'm asking/saying something similar to what another person has asked/said. Guest guest
Thanks, Jenn. I think it was the " Ummm " to start out the message that set a tone with me of sarcasm, and then the inference that I felt I was obligated to show my son everything he wanted to see. I felt I had explained things but when I got yet another message that seemed like the person hadn't read my response, I got annoyed. I appreciate you taking the time to apologize. I don't feel the need to respond to each reply, but it seemed like people kept making my responses different than what they were. Anyway, I appreciate it. No hard feelings, of course. Marla Ummm, what do you do if your child wants to see a building in another country up close? What do you do if your child wants to see the moon up close? Or a star? Or another galaxy? I don't understand the idea that we somehow are obligated to show our children whatever they want to see, just because they want to see it. I surely don't understand condoning the oppression of another being just because a child would like to be able to observe that being.
