Guest guest
Greetings from cold, soggy, gloomy Chicago My 13 year old has been having a bit of acne and blackheads. She has been managing the pimples with witch hazel and tea tree oil, but those blackhead are impossible (her nose is a forest). We have tried those overpriced strips, packing tape, white glue (gross, I know), and nothing helps. Does anyone have non-toxic suggestions? Thank you!!!! Guest guest
I struggled with acne from the time I was 13 until I was in my mid-twenties. I tried EVERYTHING that was out there to clear my skin, including going to a dermatologist regularly and taking antibiotics to clear it up and applying special ointments! Because of the severity of my acne, people thought that I would be scarred for life. However . . . When I became a vegan (I didn't eat meat or fish, but still ate dairy products before), and eliminated sugar, sodas, and other refined foods, life pleasantly changed for me, but not overnight. Also, during this time, I discovered that peanuts caused me to break out too so I have eliminated them from my diet. I thank God for showing me a natural and permanent way to treat my acne. People who didn't know me during my teenage years and early twenties cannot believe that I ever had acne. The only proof I have for ever having acne are old, embarrassing pictures because I have NO scars now and I didn't use anything to eliminate the scars! I often get comments that it looks like I wear makeup on my skin because of how clear it is when in actuality I never wore makeup! The bottom line, based on my experience, is treatment for acne starts from within. I hope this helps your child!
Guest guest
Thank you to everyone who has responded. My older sister had terrible acne as a teen; I never had more than three pimples at my worst. We eat a healthy diet; no meat, whole grains, lots of fruits and veggies, we have cut way back on dairy. We are going to try daily honey masks and switching to a mild soap for washing; the witch hazel completely cleared up the breakout on her back (a source of serious hysteria), but I think we will keep it off of her face. Thank you again, Robin and Alyssa --- On Wed, 4/1/09, admartin5 <admartin5 wrote: admartin5 <admartin5 Re:Teen skin issues Wednesday, April 1, 2009, 10:17 AM I struggled with acne from the time I was 13 until I was in my mid-twenties. Guest guest
In my family, acne comes from food intolerances. We have to avoid tomatoes, corn and chocolate. Even at 56 I will break out when I eat these foods. And corn is almost impossible to avoid. Patty
Guest guest
A product called " Timeless Prescription face " pads website: www.marketamerica.com/higherheights in health and nutrition, on left side bar, under skin care no alcohol in pads and pads themselves are biodegradeable. Work great! Colleen , robin koloms <rkoloms wrote: > > > Greetings from cold, soggy, gloomy Chicago > > My 13 year old has been having a bit of acne and blackheads.
